My Approach to Therapy

I believe in the mind-body-spirit connection and take a holistic and systemic approach to therapy with my clients. This means that I believe that humans are complex, and that in order for healing to occur it’s important to pay attention to all areas of our life and make sure that they are in balance.

We didn’t grow up in a bubble; meaning that our past experiences and relationships have an impact on who we are, along with many other factors, including but not limited to: gender, SES, ethnic background, culture, and age. As your therapist I promise to try to understand you for the unique individual you are. I will work to view things from your perspective and your lens of the world.

This doesn’t mean that I won’t gently challenge some of your beliefs. I think that true growth occurs when we’re able to become aware of our limiting patterns and belief systems. Then we can work to change them and live a life that’s more in line with what we value. My approach to therapy is collaborative, and I expect my clients to be active participants in the process. Clients describe me as down-to- earth, calm, intuitive, and compassionate. I am very solution-focused and utilize mindfulness with most of my clients as I’ve found that it’s helped them with stress reduction, to have more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others, and to strengthen their intuition.

Personal Background

Originally from upstate NY, I moved to Denver in the fall of 2001 and never looked back. I absolutely fell in love with Colorado! I lived there for nearly 21 years before deciding to move to NC to be close to chosen family.

I love music, art, nature, animals, and exploring different avenues of spirituality and healing. I would say my relationship to myself and my connection to others are the most important things in my life.
